Warren Marck Halpin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 7, 2025. He was born on November 7, 1944, in Miles City, Montana, to Howard and Ora Halpin. The family lived in Ashland, Montana, and eventually moved to Bozeman, where Warren began his education at Irving Elementary School. He graduated from Bozeman Senior High School in 1963.
Warren dedicated 30 years of his career to the Gallatin County Road Department, where he found his true calling. After retiring in 1997, he quickly returned to work for TMC Gravel, where he dedicated another decade before fully retiring in 2007.
In 1970, Warren married Kathy Woosley, and together they welcomed their daughter Sammi Jo in 1973. Even after their separation, Sammi remained an important part of his life, and the two shared many cherished memories, including horseback riding, camping, and long road trips.
In 1984, Warren married Darcy Strozzi, and they spent the next 40 years together in Belgrade, Montana. They embraced a blended family, raising Darcy’s two children, Julie and Mark Perkins, and sharing their lives with Kaycee, their cherished golden retriever. Warren had a lifelong love for dogs, having even raised poodles in the ‘60s.
Warren enjoyed fishing with friends, camping, and watching sporting events, along with spending time at home "piddling around”. He was known for his warm spirit and engaging personality, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Warren is survived by his wife, Darcy; daughter, Sammi Jo (Jack) Hunt, of Newport, WA; stepdaughter, Julie (Rob) Dunn of Owatonna, MN; stepson, Mark (Tara) Perkins of Las Vegas, NV; his sister, Gail Stucky of Grand Rapids, MI; and a niece and nephew. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Tyler (Brea) Hunt, Emily Hunt, Derek and Avery Dunn, Nick and Ali Perkins; and two great-granddaughters, Harper and Ella Hunt.
In accordance with Warren’s wishes, no services are planned at this time.
