Shawna Lynn Ten Bear Hamon

November 22, 1992 — February 24, 2024

Bozeman

On the evening of February 24th, we received notice that our daughter Shawna Ten Bear Hamon passed away. She was dear to our hearts and first entered our lives in January 1993. Her Crow and Northern Cheyenne heritage graced our home. Throughout her life, she blessed us in so many ways. Her only son, Troy Lamar Julian Michel, age 7, was the joy of her life and the treasure of her heart. TJ, as his grandfather calls him, wants her to know he is “going to be alright”, and even though she is missed, he knows her love shines down upon him today, tomorrow, and forever.

She will be missed more than the sun will ever rise or set. For all who have reached out to our family, we extend our sincere gratitude. Thank you to all who have joined with us in grieving her loss, and to all who loved and befriended Shawna, please know that our family shares in your sorrow and extends our deepest condolences to all who mourn her passing.

In closing, our family wants to acknowledge the genuine love and care Shawna received from her beloved HRDC family. They are compassionate angels of our community, and our family request that all who wish to memorialize Shawna’s passing, please consider a financial gift to the Bozeman HRDC affiliate.

Shawna’s surviving family include her son, Troy Lamar Julian Michel; her parents, Dan and Cynthia Hamon; her birth sisters, Raw Dawn Ten Bear and Donna Ten Bear; her sister, Cary Wood and husband Zachary Wood; her brother, Troy Hamon and his wife Ashley; nieces, Evie Ward and Gwen Hamon; and her nephews, Jaxon Wood and Drake Hamon. Her surviving aunts and uncles are James and Bonnie Caraway and Donald and Donna Bockman. Surviving cousins are Julie Bockman, Brandi Golden, and Laura Caraway. Preceded in death were her grandparents, Lamar and Loyce Hamon and James and Aline Caraway.

In closing we want Shawna’s extended Ten Bear and American Horse families to know she loved and cared for them dearly. She kindly spoke of them often, and we regret not being able to share their specific names, but they were a constant source of hope and strength to Shawna, and together we say goodbye to the love of our hearts, Shawna Ten Bear Hamon.
