I have come to the end of my journey

I have traveled my last weary mile

Forget how I have wondered and stumbled along the way

Words can't adequately express the life and the love Bob shared with all of us over the last 80 years.

Bob was born born in Kadoka, SD. He had a love for the outdoors from an early age. He joined the Boy Scouts and exceled to the level of Eagle Scout, an achievement that only about 4% of participants reach. Bob always had a dog and once had a pet squirrel.

After graduating from Sturgis Brown High in 1964 Bob became a ski instructor at Terry Peak, where one of his students, Anna, caught his eye and stole his heart. They were married in Rapid City and began 56 years of wanderlust adventures and memories.

Bob and Anna left South Dakota and continued their passion for skiing in Jackson Hole, WY. The warmer months had Bob on the water either windsurfing or whitewater kayaking during multi-day river trips. On land he could be found camping, playing pickle ball or riding his motorcycles; a Harley and Honda Gold Wing or his RZR Side by Side. Bob’s love for pickleball, lasted a decade. He and Anna enjoyed being Picklers and the friendships that developed as a result.

After eight years in Jackson, they moved to Montana where they started their next chapter — having two beautiful kids; Andy and Lindsey.

Bob was an entrepreneur and businessman building a legacy for his family. He attended Montana State University and was a loyal Bobcat football fan. GO CATS!

Like many northerners who turn in their skis and become snowbirds Bob, Anna, their pets and RV began to have many adventures traveling to and from Arizona which they made their second home. They cultivated many new friendships living out their retirement years full of fun and adventure.

Bob touched many lives. He always had a big smile, sometimes hidden behind a mustache, and his jokes were the best. His light shined bright. He will be remembered for his love for animals, how well he listened to others, and his sense of adventure.

He was a devout and loving husband, an amazing and supportive father, grandfather and mentor to all.

He is not gone, but instead, lives in our hearts, the forest, rivers, and in the memories we share.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hazel. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Anna; his children, Andy Dennis of Belgrade, MT, and Lindsey Dennis of Bozeman, MT; his sisters, Donna DeHaan and her husband, Jim, of South Dakota, Kathryn Dennis of Twin Falls, ID, and Margaret Dennis; and his wonderful grandchildren, Marley and Myloh.

A service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Dahl Funeral & Cremation Service, 300 Highland Blvd., Bozeman, MT 59715.
