Rex Arnold Cain, 61, passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at home in Norris, Montana.
Rex was born in Gallatin County. After earning his high school degree, Rex went on to join the United States Navy, where he traveled to multiple cities around the world. While stationed at Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines, he met and married his beloved wife, Helen, in 1986, and they raised four daughters; Jackie, Elizabeth, Michelle and Angela.
In 1991, Rex fought in the Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, with the Navy/Marine Corps infantry. He was well known for his caring nature and willingness to help anyone in need, from those in his family to those within his community. Rex was a member of the Pony VFW Post 3831 where he helped support and honor many Veterans past and present. Rex’s hobbies included camping, fishing, collecting guns, and fixing up old Willies Jeeps.
Rex is survived by his wife of 39 years, Helen; his daughters, Jackie, Elizabeth, Michelle, Angela; and grandchildren, Kiri, Jonathan, Christian, Faye, and Molly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella; sisters, Carmen and Elizabeth; brother, Chris; and niece, Mackenzie.
Rex’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Rex will forever be remembered in the Veteran’s Columbarium at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman, Montana.
