Patricia Ann Malcott Bussard Chessher, age 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, surrounded by family and love. A proud resident of Belgrade, Montana, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose bold spirit, strong willpower, fierce love, and vibrant personality will be forever remembered.
Born on March 23, 1950, in Oneonta, Alabama, Patricia lived a life full of heart, humor, and flair. She was known for her high-end taste, spicy personality, and unmatched ability to make any room feel special. Whether she was dressing to the nines or offering one of her famously sassy observations, she did so with confidence, laughter, and love.
Her brothers and sisters were abandoned in Butte, MT when Patricia was 5. Adopted by two extraordinary individuals, Clifford And Lucille Malcott. Lucille’s accomplishments range from making weapons in Hawaii during WW2 to teaching the disabled. Clifford was a well known lab tech at Livingston hospital and helped aid in saving many lives.
Patricia was married twice in her lifetime — first to Ken Bussard, with whom she had five children: Anthony, Matt, Mike, Stacey, and Melissa; and later married David Chessher. Both marriages were important parts of her journey, shaping the deep and enduring love she carried for her family.
Throughout her life, she worked in both healthcare and retail management, where she was admired for her dedication, leadership, and compassion. But her greatest and most cherished role was being a mother. Raising her five children was the joy and focus of her life, and she poured her heart into creating a loving, supportive home.
She had a passion for collecting the little treasures that made her smile — cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, keychains, and snow globes — each one full of charm and personality, just like her.
Her Chihuahuas were always close by, with Cookie and Russell as her cherished companions. She cared for them with the same love and devotion she showed her family.
She also had a special gift for cooking and baking, and her cakes were legendary. Her kitchen was filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting scent of something delicious always in the works.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless pride and joy. Her legacy lives on in the family she created and nurtured with unwavering love.
She is survived by her five children, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings and many extended family members and dear friends who will carry her strength, humor, and shine in their hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, one sister, one child and two grandchildren. Her legacy of love, laughter, style, and strength will live on in all who knew and loved her. Services are pending and will be announced later.
