Nina Mae Severin

May 9, 1930 — April 4, 2013

Afflictions’ charms have bound you for awhile Rerouted your ideas of time and place But pain and grief has not erased your smile Or changed the contour of your pleasant face On April 4, 2013, after a long battle with cancer, Nina Mae Severin was called home to be with the Lord. Our Mom was 82 years of age. Nina, the youngest of five children, was born May 9, 1930 in Bozeman, Montana. The family moved to Reed Point, Montana where she attended school and graduated as the Valedictorian of her high school class. On April 6, 1948 she married her high school sweetheart, Roy. They moved to Billings, Montana where they worked and raised their three children. Nina, unable to attend college learned and excelled in real estate and banking. It was her life long career. She retired in 1993 at the age of 63. At the time of her retirement she was a Senior Vice President at Security Federal Savings and Loan with 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by: her parents William C. and Mabel P. Ford; three brothers Glen, Wayne, and Gordon; her sister Dohris Marx; and grandson Ritchie Severin. She is survived by: two sons Mike (Patty) and Dick (Penny); her daughter Kathy (Tony) Yonkaitis; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be missed. Nina’s family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice and Highgate Assisted Living for the loving care they provided to our Mom. She loved you all. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nina’s name to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, Attn: Gift Processing or www.dav.org/Donate.
