Lorraine LaVerne Bishop

Lorraine Bishop of Bozeman, Montana, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on March 11, 1935, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Lorraine lived a life grounded in faith, family, music, and service to others. Her faith remained a source of strength throughout her life and guided her care for others.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas, who was her partner and best friend throughout more than 70 years of marriage. Together, they lovingly raised their three sons, Kenneth, Steven, and Terry.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth, Steven, and Terry; her brother, Jerry; daughter-in-law, Kathie; and her grandson, Sultan.

Music was one of Lorraine's greatest joys and remained at the heart of her life. She found great joy in singing and sharing her talent by directing the church choir and participating in the Sweet Adelines chorus. Through music, she built lasting friendships, enriched the lives of those around her, and shared the warmth and joy that became hallmarks of her life.

Over the years, Lorraine gave generously of her time as a hospital volunteer, helping those in need. She cherished time spent with friends at the gym, especially in the pool. She often joked that exercise was what "kept her going." Beyond maintaining her strength and health, the gym provided companionship, laughter, and a strong sense of community.

Though she will be deeply missed, Lorraine's legacy of faith, music, compassion, and unconditional love will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her family, friends, and church community take comfort in the memories she created and the lives she touched.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life that will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Dahl Funeral & Cremation Service, located at 300 Highland Boulevard, followed by a casual reception.
