Golden Lori J. #8220;Kittin#8221; Golden, 47 of Belgrade, passed away surrounded by family members on August 27, 2007. Lori was born in Bozeman, on August 08, 1960 to Dan and Esther (Treichel) Nelson. Lori was a 5th generation Gallatin Valley Pioneer. Lori was a very happy child growing up in Bozeman. At the age of 9, Lori won 1st place with her chocolate cake in the Bake-off at the winter fair. Lori was very proud to be a member of the DECA #8220;Distributive Education Clubs of America#8221; in high school where she proved to be a leader, greatly enjoying her trips to Minneapolis with the club to learn about education. Lori also was an accomplished bowler, taking 1st place with her sister in the State Bowling championship. Lori had a great love for the outdoors, but her greatest love was fishing which she was very good at, always catching the first, biggest and most. During high school and after graduation Lori worked as a waitress where she met her best friend, companion and true love of her life- Steve Golden. Together they built a lasting relationship of love, trust and commitment that would bond them together for life on August 21,1982 when the gave their vows of marriage at Lori#8217;s family home. Lori#8217;s love for the outdoors led them to snowmobile, motorcycle ride, ski hunt and camp. Lori lived to camp. In 1990 Lori and Steve bought a truck. Boat and camper where they camped for the nezt ten years at Canyon Ferry lake, earning the name #8220;the Campersons#8221; by their friends, Leaving her with memories of the best times of her life. In 1999 Lori was diagnosed with Crohns Disease, resulting with four major surgeries, leaving her unable to ever camp again. This changed her life, but not once did she give in. She kept the most beautiful spirit and positive attitude through it all. During this time, Lori took up growing orchids which she mastered taking Grand Champion at her first Orchid Show. Lori had a magic touch with plants and flowers, she could get anything to grow. Lori had a special love for animals. During her life she owned many cats and dogs; from childhood to present. Lori left behind 5 cats and 2 dogs whom she loved dearly. Lori had a special talent for crafts, she made blankets, quilts and clothing. Among her fine work was very special beadwork. Lori had a gift to create many different designs which she crafted. Lori will also be remembered by many for her gift to bake. In 2002 Lori won 2d place at Cupboard of Champion at the Montana Winter Fair. This decision took 3 hours by the judges to make. Lori and Steve never had children but helped raise their nephew, Court as their own. This was a very major part of Lori#8217;s life as she and her sister made a pact that they would raise Court together On Nov. 28th, 2006 Lori was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia. Lori faced a long hard battle with the most grace and positive attitude, never giving up, knowing that her love of her life was by her side every moment of the way. #8220;I love you forever #8220;Kittin#8221;.#8221; Lori is survived by her loving husband Steve, her mother, Esther Nelson, brother, Dan (Debbie) Nelson, and sister, Loni (Scott) Restvedt. Special family friend #8211; Sister in heart Anita Rudberg Nephews, Court Nelson, Tyler and Ryan Restvedt, Uncles Donald and Rubin Treichel, and Aunt Connie Treichel. Extended family nephew, Sgt Dana Ehlert, niece Brenna (John) Randall. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Dan A Nelson Sr. and grandparents and special Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 1st, 2007, at 11:00 AM ath the Dahl Funeral Chapel- Bozeman, with Rev. Terry Hollister; Chaplin of St Vincents, Hospital, Billings officiating. Visitation will be one hour before. Memorials can be made to Bozeman Deaconess Hospice Condolences and special memories may be sent to the family at www.dahlcares.com
