Loretta Reiser

April 24, 1933 — January 25, 2010

Freda Loretta Reiser of Bozeman passed away Monday, January 25, 2010, surrounded by her family, from congestive heart failure. She was born in Deer Lodge, MT to Joseph W. and Freda M. Clawson on April 24, 1933. She lived and went to school in Drummond, MT. After graduation from high school, she moved to Bozeman to attend Montana State College School of Nursing. She graduated as an RN from Butte Community Memorial Hospital in 1954 and returned to Bozeman to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1955. She married Edward J. Reiser on November 23, 1955. She worked most of her life in nursing at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, two nursing homes in Bozeman, and for a short time at Madison Valley Memorial Hospital in Ennis. She was the Director of Nursing at Gallatin Rest Home. She retired after 18 years of service at the rest home. She was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. She enjoyed camping, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, and was a fabulous cook #8211; her specialty being her Christmas cookies and candies. She loved to put on big family dinners. Loretta was passionate about her family. She also loved the summer band concerts at Bogert Park. She is survived by her husband Edward, son Edward (Gail) Reiser, Jr., daughters Virginia Self and Catherine Wright, son Raymond (Kimberly) Reiser, and seven grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 29, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to Eagle Mount, 6901 Goldenstein Ln, Bozeman, MT 59715.
