Lester Clarence Hagenlock

August 6, 1932 — February 27, 2026

Bozeman

The sun has set for the beautiful Gallatin Valley's most eligible bachelor.

Lester (Les) Clarence Hagenlock was born on August 6, 1932 in Onaka, South Dakota and passed peacefully February 27, 2026.

Les was born the son of Waldemar and Della (Grimm) Hagenlock and grew up with his 7 siblings on a farm near Seneca, South Dakota where he graduated from Seneca High School.

Les served 2 years in the United States Army as a Quarter Master before beginning a career in sales with Gambles, Egberts Boots & Shoes, and Bozeman Furniture.

Les retired in 2012 and enjoyed playing pool, bowling, shuffleboard, and playing Pinochle at the Bozeman Elks Club, where he was a member for 55 years. Les also enjoyed reading books, the newspaper and listening to country and older pop music. He was a big sports fan, coaching youth baseball and watching football, basketball, and baseball on TV.

He was very proud of his home and loved watching the ducks and golfers off his back deck. The fridge on the deck was stocked and he loved that golfers stopped for a beverage on a hot day. "Leave a buck and help yourself, if I'm not around" he would say. "Check the date on that beverage!" we would say. His home was THE holiday house. He loved to host meals and barbeques for all special occasions. He really loved his kids and the little rascals.

Those left to cherish Les's life are his children, Linda (Darrel), Cindy (Dwight), Mark (Leslie), Michael (Sandy), Patty (Nick); 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His sweet granddaughter, Lindsey (Small Fry) preceded him in death.

The memory loss journey is a hard one for families but Les remained social to the end. We appreciate the good people of Spring Creek Inn Memory Care in Bozeman, who celebrated his life daily with care and understanding.

93 years of life - well done, Dad!
