Lea Mae Miller, 46, of Belgrade passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010. Lea was born on October 26, 1963 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to Warren and Patricia (Miller) Johnson. She grew up in Point Pleasant and moved to Colstrip in 1982. In 1995, she came to the Bozeman area to pursue a college education. In 1999, she graduated, with honors, from Montana State University with a degree in education, with specializations in Social Studies and History. She worked as a teacher and program director for Mountain Peaks, a program for at-risk youth, before her employment at MSU as the program director for the Northern Plains Transition to Teaching program. On December 31, 2008, she married Anthony Cochenour in Bozeman. At the time of her death, Lea was a PhD student and a certified mental health counselor. She had immense passion for literature, history, education and counseling but family and friends were her main focus in life. Survivors include her husband, Anthony; her sons, David Seth Hill of Milwaukee, WI and Caleb Anthony Hill of Boston, MA; her sister, Deanna McCarty of Columbus, OH; and her parents, William and Patricia, of Point Pleasant. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
