Jerry Grant, 67, a lifelong resident of Bozeman, passed peacefully at his home April 12, 2025.
Jerry was born in February of 1958, to Ivan and Mary Grant, and joined several siblings. He attended schools in Bozeman, and from a young age, was goal-oriented and outcome-driven. He participated in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Jerry graduated from Bozeman High School in 1976 and attended college courses before going to work for the MSU Carpentry Shop. He also pursued and achieved his pilot’s license for both fixed-wing and rotor-wing aircraft and later became a flight instructor. Jerry was proud of his service with the Montana Army National Guard as a Cavalry Scout and a helicopter Crew Chief. He was a member of the Bozeman Dive Club and Gallatin County Search and Rescue for many years. In his work as a financial consultant, Jerry had a knack for picking stocks attributable to his goal-oriented and outcome-driven personality.
Jerry met the love of his life, Michele Fabritz, and they were married in 2016. They loved the outdoors, and logged many miles together, particularly in the Wyoming Wind River Range, pursuing hunting, fishing, and all the other outdoor activities you might imagine – “they were always up to something!’. Jerry supported Michele through her cancer journey with many trips to the Mayo Clinic, and with all of his love.
Jerry dedicated his life, through his work and his friendships, to the support and betterment of others. He was the first one to offer help to anybody, in any way he could, to help them succeed.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Michele (2024), and his parents. He is survived by his son, Justin (Rebecca), and their three children; and several siblings.
Services for Jerry are scheduled for Friday, June 20, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m., with graveside military honors at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Bozeman, MT, followed by a 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service and Reception at Dahl Funeral & Cremation Service, 300 Highland Blvd., Bozeman, MT.
