Janet Elaine (Whybark) Fulcher passed away September 27, 2023, after a courageous fight against glioblastoma. Janet was born to Arlie and Elva (Knight) Whybark on March 28, 1944, in Kamiah, Idaho. She was little sister to Betty and Jane and was soon followed by brother Gary. Janet grew up in Dayton, Washington and when she was a senior in high school the family moved to Clarkston, Washington where her father was transferred to minister the United Brethren Church. She graduated from Clarkston High School in 1962.
Janet and her two children moved to Montana in 1976.
Janet married Richard “Dick” Fulcher on December 10, 1991, in Dillon, MT. They made their home in Bozeman until Dick’s death in 2009 when Janet moved back to Churchill where she had lived while raising her children, David and Darla.
Janet worked various accounting/office jobs throughout her life, including Gallatin County Clerk and Recorder’s office, Montana State Water Court, and she also was an amazing wedding coordinator for several years with her own company Weddings by Janet. She retired from Murdoch’s Ranch and Home in 2014.
Janet is survived by her son, David Lackey (Riki) of Great Falls; daughter, Darla Strand (Mike) of Churchill; grandchildren, Kaylee Galiger (Roper), Collyn Lackey, Maci Doty (Brandon), Bandyn Lackey and Ryan Lackey; great granddaughters, Remy and Arlie Galiger; as well as nieces and nephews she adored.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fulcher; her father and mother; sister, Jane; brother-in-law, Wes Lowe; sister-in-law, Margaret Whybark; and niece Angie Nelson.
We will celebrate Janet’s life Saturday October 7, 2023, at 10:30 am at Foothills Fellowship Church, 4000 Springhill Road, Bozeman.
