Jane, Mom, Grandma Jane passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 18th in Bozeman, MT.
Jane grew up in Highland Park, IL, with her twin brother Tom and mother Ruth. She lost her father at an early age. She married her childhood sweetheart, Pierre. Their marriage would last 64 legendary years. She was a housekeeper at Old Faithful Inn in the 50's and 60's. She liked to tell stories about sleeping out on the boardwalks, watching the bears eat garbage, and how she and Dad were tossed out of bed when the "59 quake" hit. She made West Yellowstone her permanent home around 1985. She was a familiar face at the Econo-Mart for 10 years. She was a fixture at the West Yellowstone Senior Center, cooking, cleaning, and delivering meals.
Jane put her best effort into everything she did. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was kind and gentle. She was tough and practical. Jane could raise a garden, fix a flat, paint the house, bake a pie from scratch, and mysteriously stop hiccups by pulling on your ear lobes. She attended countless practices, games, and tournaments.
Above all else, Jane loved her family - two children, three grandkids, and four great-grandkids, all of whom were with her for several days before she passed, giving her as much love as they could. Mom, you will forever be talked about, loved, and so dearly missed.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers Jane wished that donations be made to the West Yellowstone Senior Center.
