Harry Richard Ellis, of Bozeman, MT, passed away peacefully November 10, 2025, at the age of 91.
He was born April 22, 1934 in Nekoma, KS, to Harry Albert and Beulah Sedonia Ellis. He was raised on a farm near Rozel, KS, where he learned the value of hard work. He later became a respected entrepreneur and business owner in Amarillo, TX, where he lived for almost 20 years. After selling the business, he was able to realize his dream of moving to Montana. Harry and his wife, Carolina, settled in Bozeman, where they owned and operated Carito's Mexican Restaurant, Customized Services, Inc. (waste disposal), and Matrix Medical Waste Services, Inc.
Harry had a deep faith and was closest to his God while hunting and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman, and maintained close friendships through these activities. He enjoyed woodworking and could build or fix anything. He loved being around children, had a wonderful sense of humor, and a particular soft spot for dogs. He was a kind, extremely intelligent man who shared his wisdom with his children and grandchildren.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Donald, Leroy, Larry and Edward; and a daughter, Belinda. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carolina (nee Rodriquez); daughters, Tammi, Lisa, Stephanie, Kelly, Jo and June; sons, Jerry, Johnnie, and Jerome; sisters, Judi and Sharilyn; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by many.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kirchhoff, Eden Hospice nurses Dottie, Marshall, and Jena, and Chaplain Kim for their compassionate care and fellowship.
