George Edward Anttila

March 26, 1941 — January 26, 2022

George “Eddie” Anttila, 81, passed away on January 26, 2022. He is survived by daughters Sidney Blase (Jeff) and Michelle Gere; grandsons Colton and Kyle Gere.

Ed was a friend with a servant’s heart and an insanely hard worker. An avid reader, he was always learning and loved the latest information on health and nutrition. He hadn’t seen a doctor in 50 years, relying solely on natural healing, regular workouts and protein shakes.

He was the consummate handyman and all things outdoor and adventure. He loved hiking with his dogs and constant companions, “Bonnie and Blue.” During his life, he raced motorcycles, rode bulls, loved off-road four-wheeling, rock climbing, scuba diving, trail riding. He always had family in tow on these adventures. He was a welder by trade, but his job as custodian for Bozeman Public Schools brought him the most satisfaction. He really enjoyed the friendships he made with the teachers, students and fellow custodians.

His advice to all: Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Eddie was born March 26, 1941, in Ontonagon, Michigan. His parents, Helmi and George Anttila, preceded him in death; his former wife and love of his life Freddie followed him nine days after his death.

A future celebration of life with family and friends will be held.
