Edward Rene Andersen, 76, of Bozeman, passed away December 15, 2019. He was born on March 3, 1943 to Rene and Margaret (Sevey) Andersen in Las Vegas, NV. His family moved to California when he was a baby, he grew up in West Covina and went to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Edward was the first student from Orestimba High School, his alma mater in Newman, CA, to go to Germany as a foreign exchange student.
Edward worked with his father in farming (he learned to drive a tractor at the age of four) and later in fabricating. Edward served as a missionary for his church from 1962-1964, in the West Central States Mission (Billings) and married his wife Linda Lee Coon in Los Angeles, CA on October 30, 1964. He enjoyed woodworking, building toys to share with family and friends and spending time on his computer searching family history. He was a jack-of-all-trades and always willing to help anyone and everyone with anything.
Edward is survived by his wife Linda; children David (Cindy) Andersen of Herriman, UT, Lori (Bret) Niedens of Bozeman, MT, Troy (Kristina) Andersen of Layton, UT and Andrew (Samantha) Andersen of Buda, TX; siblings Margaret Ann Wilcox, Marilyn Benson, Dan (Candy) Andersen and Brian (Amy) Andersen; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law Ken Wilcox and Al Benson and sister-in-law Teresa Andersen.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 2915 Colter Avenue in Bozeman, on December 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
