Dorothy Davidson

June 28, 1913 — September 7, 2009

Dorothy Lee Davidson died peacefully on September 7, 2009 at the age of 96. Dorothy was born June 28, 1913 to James R. Pulliam and Gracalie Conner Pulliam in Baltimore, Maryland. She spent her childhood in Winchester, Virginia graduating from John Handley High School in 1932. After high school she moved to Washington, D.C. and obtained a job as a clerk at the FBI. While working there she met the love of her life, C. Ray Davidson, an FBI Special Agent and they were married in August 1936. Dorothy and Ray had two sons, Thomas and Dennis Davidson. Ray had a long career with the FBI and became Director of Personnel. The family resided in Maryland and following his retirement, moved to Whispering Pines, N.C. where they remained for 25 years. While raising her two boys she worked as a nursery school teacher and later pursued a career at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dorothy moved to Bozeman, Montana in 2000 to be closer to her son and his family. She resided at Aspen Pointe and later Birchwood. During this time she enjoyed visiting with and traveling to visit family members. She especially enjoyed the numerous visits from her sister, Helen Reed, who resides in Maryland. She was fortunate to have the assistance and care of many Birchwood staff and a truly wonderful friend and companion, Jen Burke, who provided loving care for many years. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Thomas (Debby) Davidson of Scottsdale, AZ and Dennis (Shirley) Davidson of Bozeman, MT; sister, Helen Reed of Rockville, MD; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. At Dorothy#8217;s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held; a private family interment will be held in Maryland. Memorials may be sent to Bozeman Deaconess Hospice, 931 Highland Blvd, Ste. 3200, Bozeman, MT 59715.
