Christine "Christy" Gore Berg

Christine “Christy” Gore Berg of Bozeman passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Christy was born August 3, 1947, in Helena, MT to Donald and Helen Gore. She was raised by her parents and her dear Aunt Vinnie. Her younger sister, “Baby” Helen died in infancy and her older sister, Vinnie Mary “Mimi,” was her lifelong companion.

Christy attended Catholic School in Helena and had many happy memories of her family’s business, Weggenman’s Market. She worked for the Department of Revenue in the Capital Building for seven years before she met her future husband of 50 years, Forrest, on a blind date in 1972. They were married less than a year later at The Cathedral of St. Helena on November 24, 1973.

Christy and her beloved Forrest were the perfect match, and they were inseparable. They eventually settled in Missoula, MT before moving to Bozeman in 1989. She was a completely devoted mother to her kids, Dawn and Barry, always going the extra mile to care for her family, and she was The Most Amazing and Devoted Grandma anyone could ask for. Every day, Christy went above and beyond to bring joy to her grandkids, Campbell and Dylan.

Christy was known for her generosity and kindness towards her family, friends, and community. She was very active in her church and served many at both Holy Family Church in Missoula and Resurrection Church in Bozeman. She was also known for her incredible yard and garden, which she won a City

Beautification, in 2011.

She was greatly loved by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. All the neighborhood kids knew they could depend on “Beautiful Christy’s” candy jar and pantry for a treat.

Christy is survived by her husband, Forrest; Son, Barry; daughter, Dawn (Hunter); and grandchildren, Campbell and Dylan (Hunter).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Helen (Weggenman) Gore; her Aunt Vinnie Weggenman; sisters, Helen Elizabeth and Vinnie Mary “Mimi” Gore; and much loved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A special thank you to her caregivers and palliative care team at Bozeman Hospital for their tender loving care and support.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Resurrection University Catholic Parish in Bozeman, MT. A reception will follow the service in the parish social hall. Mass will be live streamed at resurrectionbozeman.org. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Rocky Mountain Hemophilia Association,1627 W Main St #142, Bozeman, MT 59715.
