Charlotte Reid

In the early afternoon on April 18, 2025, Charlotte Reid, age 92, passed away at her home in Bozeman. Charlotte began life in Casper, Wyoming, the eldest of 5 children born to parents, Floyd and Maudelle Porter.

She graduated from Natrona County High School, married Raymond Korthas (deceased), and began a family of her own. The couple later divorced. Charlotte worked in the banking industry and in a thriving family medical practice in Casper. She enjoyed writing and painting. Watercolors and Pastels seemed to consume most of her spare time although she did enjoy dabbling in Oils as well.

In 1974 Charlotte married the love of her life, Hugh Reid. The two were an unstoppable team in business. They travelled repeatedly to Asia on business, and to many other destinations around the world for leisure. Charlotte and Hugh were inseparable until Hugh’s passing in 2015 at age 93.

Charlotte will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew her. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Lanouette; her children, Steve Korthas (Abilene, KS), Rachel Korthas (Vernon, UT), Dan (Melanie) Korthas (Belgrade, MT); stepsons, Dennis (Marilyn) Reid (Seattle, WA), Steve (Lynn) Reid (St. Regis, MT), Jim Reid (Bozeman, MT) and Gary (Sally) Reid (Bozeman, MT). Charlotte was the fierce champion of her seven grandchildren, her three great grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Maudelle Porter; brothers Floyd, Lloyd and Boyd; and her beloved husband, Hugh.

In honor of Charlotte and Hugh’s wishes, there will be a combined memorial service, the details to be announced later.
