Charles William "Bill" Keith

December 30, 1929 — November 5, 2018

Charles William "Bill" Keith passed away November 5, 2018. He was born in Helena, Montana December 30, 1929 to William Adam Keith and Pauline Dennis. They lived in Forsyth, Sidney and Miles City, Montana. In 1948 Bill graduated from Sidney High School; during his High School years he enjoyed sports and especially loved football. After high school Bill served in the US Navy for a year before going to Montana State College where he graduated in 1953 receiving a degree in Architectural Engineering. Bill then served in the Navy for two years and was honorably discharged in 1955. He then went back to Montana State and received a degree in Civil Engineering. Bill married the "love of his life" Marilyn Erlandson on November 24, 1961 in Helena where they lived and raised their two children Kelli & Kurt. He had a 40-year career at Morrison-Maierle in Helena, designing many bridges and buildings throughout Montana. Bill also served in the US Naval Reserves for 25 years retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in 1989. After Bill retired in 1996, he and Marilyn designed and built a beautiful home in the Bitterroot Valley where they spent 20 wonderful years tending their orchard and grapevines. They escaped the Montana winters in Sun City West Arizona where they enjoyed their home, golfing and socializing with family and friends. Bill and Marilyn were married for a happy 56 years!

Bill belonged to Rotary and M.A.S.S.S. (Montana Alpine Skiing and Surfing Society), enjoyed skiing, time with family and friends at his cabin on Lindbergh Lake, and watching Montana State Bobcat Football. Bill's stated goal in life was to "have fun" and he will be remembered most for his positivity, his kindness, and his loving-jolly spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. "Bill" Keith and Pauline "Peenie" Keith.

Bill is survived by his wife, Marilyn Keith of Bozeman; his children, Kelli (Marty) Dunn of Denver and Kurt (Anne) Keith of Bozeman; grandchildren Tyler Dunn (Phoenix, AZ), Conner Dunn (Denver, CO), Katie Keith (Amherst, MA) and Ginny Keith (Bozeman, MT).
