Brandon Erik Hobbs made his heavenly journey on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Brandon was born on January 14, 1992 in Cortez, Colorado to Erik Hobbs and Bobbie Gustafson. Growing up and attending school in Mancos, Colorado, Brandon developed a love for the outdoors, and was active in hunting and fishing, which were passions throughout his life.
Brandon, also known as Uncle Buddy, was many things to many people. A musician, writer, fisherman, carpenter, poet, tradesman, and a great friend to many, but above all, he was most proud of his family and being an uncle. He was smart as could be, and lived life a little louder than the rest of us. Known as a class clown, he was always trying to find the next way to make you laugh. Brandon is survived by his mother, and step father Chris and Bobbie Gustafson, his sisters Cody Adams (Christian Adams), Whitney Gustafson, Larissa Jones (Travis Jones), and Kristen Short (Mark Short) and stepmother Stephanie Hobbs. He is also survived by grandparents Kent and Sue Aiken, Gene and Barbara Gustafson, Donna Howe, Tim Howe (Sharon Howe), and Roland Hobbs (Barbara Hobbs), many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and more. He was preceded in death by his father, Erik Hobbs and his uncles, Jeff Hobbs and Dean Gustafson. Brandon’s ashes will be buried at Mancos Cemetery on April 24, 2026 at 11am. We will hold an additional memorial for him at the beginning of June in Bozeman, Montana.
