Bozeman

Bonnie Lou (Quinlan) Korn passed away at the age of 90 from natural causes on January 2, 2026, in Bozeman, Montana. Bonnie was born on October 11, 1935, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Texie Rosalie (Blue) and Kenneth Charles Quinlan. In 1955, she married Jerry Korn.

After graduating from high school, Bonnie attended Northwestern State College in Alva, graduating in 1956 with a BA in English and a minor in Journalism. She taught high school English in Moline, Kansas, and then she, her husband Jerry, and son Lynn moved to Arizona. During this time, they were blessed with four children: Lynn David (Luci), Lisa Kay (Rick Held), Jeanne Ann (Jeff Rasch), and Nancy Gail (Bill Connor). Bonnie had eight grandchildren: Jeremy, Gabe, Shane, Colleen, Rory, Liam, Courtney, and Keegan. She also had four great-grandchildren: Quinlynn, Warrick, Eira, and Emery.

In 1969, Bonnie was awarded her Master’s degree in counseling from Northern Arizona University and worked for 11 years as a counselor at Flagstaff Junior High. She continued her education to become a School Psychologist working for the Flagstaff school district for another 11 years. After retirement in 1982, she became a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children. Bonnie and Jerry also opened their home and their hearts to several foster children. She continued to have a positive impact in the lives of many children and families throughout her life.

Bonnie and Jerry loved to travel, spending the first two years after retirement traveling around the US in their trailer. They also explored many other places, including Germany, Israel, Egypt, China, Italy, Greece, Ireland, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. Some of their travels included 22 mission projects with NOMADS. Bonnie became quite skilled at taping and texturing sheetrock.

Bonnie enjoyed writing and wrote her memoir titled “Choose to be Happy”. This attitude exemplified her approach to everything in life. She also enjoyed golf and cherished the friends she made through the Continental Women's Golf Association.

Faith was a very important part of Bonnie’s life. She was a charter member of Trinity Heights United Methodist Church and a Stephen Minister leader with that congregation. Wherever Bonnie and Jerry traveled, they enjoyed finding Methodist churches to attend. After moving to Bozeman, Bonnie found a wonderful church home at the Bozeman United Methodist Church.

In April of 2024, Bonnie and Jerry moved to Bozeman, Montana, to be near two of their children. Jerry passed away unexpectedly soon after, and Bonnie later moved to a memory care facility.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry, parents, and parents-in-law, sister Peg Ancel, brother Gil Bruner, brother-in-law Roger Noble, sister-in-law Carole Canfield, and brother-in-law Larry Korn. She is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister Pat Noble, and sister-in-law Rosie Bruner, along with many other cherished relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held this spring in Flagstaff, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, the Lewy Body Dementia Association, or a charity of your choice.

Bonnie’s favorite Bible verse - "And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
