Bev Borer, 92, passed away Thursday, March 11 at home with family after a short illness. She was born January 15, 1929 in Bozeman, the daughter of Walter C. and Mildred Blackwood.
She grew up on the family farm with the support of her brothers, Burr and Dick as their dad died at an early age. On Sept. 22, 1947 she married James Borer after he returned from Navy service in WWII. Following their marriage, they lived in Forsyth and Bozeman before moving to Billings in 1953 and raising their five children.
As a longtime member of St. Pius X Parish, she trained several generations of altar servers and helped organize blood drives for many years. At age 90 she was still volunteering at St. Vincent Hospital. Much loved, church friends referred to her as “Saint Bev.”
Survivors include daughter, Teresa (Dan) Klusmann of Bozeman, sons, Mike (Cherie) Borer of Sedalia, Colorado, and Pat (Kim) Borer of Cody, Wyoming, brother Dick Blackwood of Bozeman, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.
Bev was preceded in death by husband, Jim, sons Tom and Dave, grandson, Kevin, and brother Burr.
A vigil service was held Monday evening. Funeral Mass is 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 16 at St Pius. Due to Covid restrictions the funeral is by invitation only but can be viewed online at:

Visitation will be 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, March 17 at Dahl Funeral & Cremation Servvice Tribute Center in Bozeman. Live Streamed at https://youtu.be/6KAYMxuBl1o. Burial will take place 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 17 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman.
