Barbara Ann Butler-Bartholic

In Loving Memory of Barb Barb, 69, passed away on August 30, 2026.

Barb was born in Billings, Montana, to Ira and Joan Butler and grew up in Laurel, Montana, where she graduated from Laurel High School. She later earned her degree from Montana State University Billings.

Barb spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, dedicating herself to raising her daughter and two stepchildren, whom she loved and adored. She also worked periodically throughout her life, and wherever she went, she had a way of connecting with people and being loved by those around her.

Barb had a gift for making the world around her more beautiful. She loved working in her yard, and no matter where she lived, her yard was always pristine. She could spend hours outside in the sunshine, moving rocks, planting flowers and plants, and creating beautiful rock beds. Her yards were truly a reflection of her creativity, patience, and attention to detail.

That creativity carried into so many parts of her life. Barb loved crafting and could turn the simplest things into beautiful works of art. Even more than making things, she loved giving them away. She was an incredibly thoughtful gift giver who took the time to create something personal and meaningful for the person receiving it. Her gifts were an expression of the love and care she had for others.

Barb was also an elegant woman who was always dressed to the nines—from her clothes to her shoes and, of course, her nails. She loved fashion and never needed much of an excuse to dress up. Her personal style was another expression of the creativity that was so much a part of who she was.

Those who knew Barb knew her for her kindness, generosity, and giving heart. She loved volunteering with Love INC and spoke with such fondness about the people she worked alongside and the people they served.

Her church was also an important part of her life, and she especially treasured her involvement with Operation Christmas Child. Each year, she gave generously of her time and resources to the program. It was something she cared deeply about, and bringing joy to others through it meant so much to her.

Above all, Barb loved her family. She is survived by her daughter, Sandi, and son-in-law, Donni; her stepchildren, Dylan and Kayla; her grandchildren, Brooke and Zack; her step-granddaughter, Elle; and her newest great-granddaughter, Avery.

Barb leaves behind a legacy that can be seen in so many places—in the family she loved, the people she helped, the beautiful things she created, the flowers she planted, and the countless gifts she made with her own hands and gave from her heart. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Services will be held at The Church of Four Corners on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. A light reception will follow the service. Burial will take place at Laurel Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
