William Campbell

William Trenerry Campbell was born July 7, 1921, in Eugene, Oregon, to Duncan R. Martha Trenerry Campbell while they were on a traveling sales trip. He passed from this life on Saturday, July 5, 2008, surrounded by his family. He married the love of his life, Olga, on June 15, 1946, in Butte, Montana, following his return from serving in Europe during World War II. Together, they celebrated 62 years of love and devotion to one another and their family. Bill Olga have five children: Tom (Connie) Campbell of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Bruce (Debbie) Campbell of Bozeman; Carol (Doug) Zaharko of Kalama, Washington; David (Connie) Campbell of Livingston; and Jim (Tanya) Campbell of Missoula. They have 10 grandchildren (Nathaniel and Jo Campbell, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Greg and Michelle Campbell, Helena, Kristie and James Renner, Belgrade, Sarah and Brent Stanger, Great Falls, Dawn Steve Duerksen, Philomath, Oregon, Jeff Zaharko, Valley City, North Dakota, Adam Campbell, Honolulu Hawaii, Tara Campbell, Livingston, Kayla Harrison, Washington, North Carolina, and James Campbell, Kitsap Naval Base, Washington) and 8 great grandchildren. Bill was preceeded in death by both parents, brothers Walter and Thomas, and brother-in-law David L. Kidd. In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren great-grandchildren, he is survived by brother Duncan and sister-in-law Bobbie Campbell of Big Fork. Bill worked for the Montana Power Company for over 45 years #8211; starting before his enlistment in the Army, and returning to work upon his discharge. He started in the Butte Office, transferred in 1957 to Helena, and returned to Butte in 1978. He retired from the Power Company in 1985. While in Helena, he was active in the Helena Kiwanis Club, and enjoyed bowling on the MPC Bowling Team. Bill was an avid putterer #8211; both on the golf course and at home. He was forever working around the yard and doing odd jobs around the house. He was always there to lend a hand to family, friends and neighbors. Most recently, he loved spending time with his great grandchildren. He was well loved and will be truly missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at the Manhattan Presbyterian Church, 214 N. Broadway, Manhattan, on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 1:00PM. With retired Pastor Wayne Fisher of Butte, officiating.
