Tia Lynne Sharpe

September 14, 1962 — December 19, 2022

Tia L. Sharpe, 60, of Belgrade, MT, passed of natural causes at her home on December 19, 2022.

She was born on September 14,1962, to Richard Robbins and Joy Engelbach in Las Vegas, NV. Tia graduated from Butte High School in 1980. She moved to Bozeman where she began her journey to become an Electrical Engineer, and graduated from MSU in 1986 with a master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

She married Joe Sharpe on July 11, 1987, and the two moved to Seattle, WA, where she landed a job with Boeing. Their time in Seattle was short lived and only lasted 3 years because of the love they had for the mountains and rivers of Montana. Her happy place was on the Yellowstone River, fly fishing with Joe and their fur babies. They were together for over 30 years, but sadly they divorced in 2016.

Tia’s brilliant mind led to her countless accomplishments in her career as an Electrical Engineer. She excelled in her field and had publications of various projects she worked on. Her career in the engineering field spanned over 30 years, from managing research projects to teaching courses at MSU. She loved children and the young at heart. She enjoyed working with them in the Robotics Club.

Tia loved dogs. Her most recent fur baby, a labradoodle named Sadie, loyally stayed right by her side when she passed. Tia was a Godmother to her nieces and nephews. She spoiled them with her love of the outdoors and taught them so many life lessons. If she was not teaching them to fly-fish, catch a snake, plant flowers, or weed a garden, she would have them in the kitchen making one of her delicious dishes and so much more. She showered them with her big hugs, sharing her love of learning whether she gifted them a bible, a puzzle, or a science toy. We all learned something from her, from reading a story from the bible or fact-based truth on what global warming is doing to our environment. She loved her family and friends unconditionally without hesitation or regard for her own well-being.

When Tia found the Lord and received Him into her life, her world changed. Her love of reading was obvious but reading the bible was her true passion. She was the happiest at church sharing her love of Jesus. Tia lived her life to please others and give to whoever she knew or did not know. Over the years, she had gone on mission trips with her church to other countries giving endless hours and monies to help those in need. Her charity and volunteer work were exemplary. She wanted people to remember Jesus, not her, in all that she did. Tia had a smile that could light up a room and will be missed by many coworkers, family, and friends. Her love for Jesus is what kept her going until she went to sleep.

Left to cherish only beautiful memories of her are her stepfather, Martin (Audrey) Engelbach; brother Rich (Terry) Robbins; stepbrother, Matthew Engelbach; sisters, Lessa Barrett and Dena (George) Reid; nephews, Mike and Andrew Hawe, and Dorian Waters; nieces, Stephanie (Rylee, Aubree, Jaxson) Smith, Mariah Hawe, and Angel Waters; an aunt, Judy Lowrance along with several cousins; best friends, Jodie Sipes, Molly Wilmington, and Amy Coy; her former husband, Joe Sharpe; and many other past and present co-workers and friends. Our hearts are completely broken but knowing Tia is not in pain anymore will help us heal in time.
