Thomas Larson

August 8, 1952 — June 12, 2010

Thomas Gus Larson passed away from natural causes on June 12 at the age of 57, leaving us with a strong spirit and good heart. Tom's waters ran deep, and all who loved him will miss the life they shared. Tom was born to Betty and Wayne Larson on August 8, 1952 in Brookings, SD. As a young boy, he loved to play with hammers, which ultimately led to a lifelong career as an outstanding carpenter. He spent a lot of his young life playing baseball, and was an excellent pitcher. He attended Bozeman Senior High, where he made many lifelong friendships. Tom married Sue Piper, and they were later divorced. They had two children, Shay and Kira Larson, who meant everything to him. Nothing was more important to him in life than being a father. He worked for over 30 years for Clair Daines Construction, and helped to build many, many homes and office buildings in Bozeman. He cherished his work buddies, who were like family to him. Tom's circle of friends was big and wide, and he always met life with an open heart. He loved animals, especially his dog Sydney, and felt most at home in the Montana outdoors. His generosity and thoughtful personality made people feel comfortable. He was a hard-working man who valued simple things, and didn't have a lot of time for pretense. Tom is survived by his children, Shay and Kira Larson, his father and mother, Wayne and Betty Larson, sisters Cindi Laukes, and Toni Hickman (Mike and Maggie Hickman), and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was a loving father, brother, son, and always a good friend. He will be deeply missed by many in this world. To remember Tom, donations may be made to Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter at 1549 E. Cameron Bridge Rd., Bozeman, MT 59718. A Celebration of Tom#8217;s life will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Lindley Park Pavilion.
