Steve Robert Seise

February 8, 1949 — December 31, 2012

Steve Robert Seise, of Bozeman, passed away at home on December 31, 2012. He was born February 8, 1949 in Rockford, Illinois to Robert Adolph and Virginia (Turney) Seise. Steve was raised and educated in Rockford, Illinois. He graduated from Rockford High School before attending Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, Chapman University in Orange, Ca, Milton College in Milton, WI and later Montana State University. While attending Chapman College, Steve received some cooking instruction in Sweden. That experience powered his love for fine cuisine and cooking, which only to a back seat to his love for horticulture. He had a number of herb gardens, bonsai trees, and many other unusual gardens. As a child his family would frequent the Nine Quarter Circle Ranch. His love for the outdoors, which included fishing, hiking and mushroom hunting, was responsible for his move to Bozeman over 30 years ago. Steve was also President of the Bozeman Jewish Temple for a number of years. Steve was a very compassionate man. He sacrificed 8-10 years of his life to act as a caregiver for his mother, right up until the point he required care himself. He will also be remembered for his wealth of knowledge. He was very open to passing on his wisdom of a great variety of subject matters. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sue Bagus. He is survived by: his sister Mary (Rich) Nance of Yakima, WA and nephews Scott Bagus of Denver, CO and Max Bagus of Chicago, IL. Private family services will be held later in the spring.
