Stephanie Toohey Armknecht

February 23, 1989 — February 1, 2009

Stephanie Jane Toohey Armknecht was born of love on February 23, 1989 to Steve and Debbie Toohey. She was married to the love of her life, Cody Armknecht, on December 20, 2008. She was surrounded with enduring love by all who knew her and died in the arms of her husband on February 1, 2009. Diagnosed with brain cancer in May 2008, Stephanie lived her short 19 years of life with enthusiasm, vigor, and happiness which would be the envy of all. Always optimistic and never ever complaining, Stephanie lived her life to the fullest. She was a fifth generation native of Gallatin County and was raised on her family#8217;s ranch. She attended Bozeman schools and MSU. Always a hard worker, Stephanie worked as much as school would allow at local businesses such as Berries and Beans, Junga Juice, and City Brew while still helping her parents on the family ranch. She met her husband Cody while in high school and they dated each other exclusively until they were married 2 1/2 years later. Stephanie was a `smiler' and rarely had a bad word to say about anything. Her cancer was an inconvenience to her, but not something she ever complained about. She smiled and was strong to the very end. A lover of children, Stephanie's goal in life was to teach Kindergarten. She didn't let her diagnosis interfere with her plans, Stephanie still attended MSU with the hope of continuing her goal. Unfortunately, things got worse. Stephanie is survived by her husband, Cody; Cody's parents Denise and Steve Armknecht; parents Steve and Debbie Toohey; sisters Andrea (children Aidan and Will) and Kayla; grandfather James Toohey and numerous aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Margaret Toohey, grandmother Mardece Terry, and grandfather Ernest Terry. We wish to thank all of the doctors and support staffs from Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center who have helped in this trial - especially Wendy. Wendy helped make Stephanie's disease, if not ultimately successfully cured, at least more manageable for all of us. We will forever be in her debt. Our thanks also go out to all of the friends and relatives of our families plus the supporters of the Cancer Clinic, which spent so much time, and gave so much, in support of all of us. We would appreciate that any memorials may be given to the Cancer Clinic, c/o Bozeman Deaconess Foundation, 931 Highland Blvd, Ste 3200, Bozeman, MT 59715. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Dahl Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Stephanie's Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Hope Lutheran Church, 2152 West Graf (off of South 19th), Bozeman.
