Richard Thomas Rogers

June 21, 1954 — June 28, 2022

Richard Thomas Rogers lost his battle with cancer on June 28, 2022. He was born in Long Island, NY on June 21, 1954 and was raised by foster parents.

Rich enlisted in the US Navy right after high school where he served a couple of years before being medically discharged. He met the love of his life while serving in the Navy and then married his love, Margaret, on March 6, 1976 in Naples, Italy where she was also serving in the US Navy. They lived in Naples for a couple of years before moving back to the states. Rich and Peg raised their family in Pennsylvania, but they had always dreamed of moving to Montana. They did so in 2005 after both daughters had already made the leap. He enjoyed the mountains, the great big Montana sky, getting to know his neighbors and always had a smile on his face. He was nicknamed "Jolly" early in his career by some co-workers for his big smile and likable attitude. He will be very missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret E. (Jansch) Rogers and two daughters, Sarah Rogers of Livingston and Cheryl (Rogers) Miner of Belgrade. He also leaves behind 2 granddaughters, Emelyse Rogers.and Charlotte Miner. A graveside service with military honors will take place Thursday, July 7, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 25363 Frontage Road, Bozeman.
