Philip Braun, 79, of Bozeman passed away on January 14, 2009. He was born on March 7, 1929 in Pennsylvania to Anton and Mary Braun. Phil married Irma DeLorenzo in 1953. On July 24, 1986, Phil married Mary Clark in Montana. He thoroughly enjoyed his work as a Physical Education teacher, a coach, and as an Athletic Director. Phil loved fly fishing, as well as gardening. He enjoyed his dogs, English Setters, Jersey Girl and Cali Girl.Phil was a great story teller and could go on and on about his coaching and fishing experiences. He was often called the Old Curmudgeon or the Red Bobber. He had a gruff exterior with a warm heart inside. He wanted to thank all of the guys and gals at The River#8217;s Edge, The Bozeman Angler, Fins Feathers, and Montana Troutfitters for putting up with him. He was an expert fly tier, many of which were donated to the Trout Unlimited annual banquet. A highlight in Phil's life was being chosen to play the card dealer in the movie The River Runs Through It. He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepson, Ronnie Clark; and his first wife, Irma. Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughter Loren (Jack) Rogers; step-children, Joseph Clark, Robert Clark, and Lisa Dabreau; granddaughter Kaitlyn Faaland; step-grandchildren, Casey Clark, Christopher Clark, Dawson Dabreau, Genevieve Dabreau, Shane Clark, and Jasmine Clark; as well as best friends, but more like family, Angie and Robb Miller, and their children, Jake, Noah, and Analiese. Memorials may be made in Phil#8217;s name to the Heart of the Valley Humane Society, PO Box 11390, Bozeman, MT 59719 A Vigil Service will be at 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 19, 2009 at Resurrection Catholic Parish. Phil, I will miss fishing with you. Don#8217;t catch all the big ones in that Big Pond in Heaven. Save some for when I join you.
