Norval William Armstrong

Norval William Armstrong, of West Yellowstone, MT, passed recently. He was born in Waterloo, IA, and served in the US Air Force stateside during the Korean War.

Norval dearly loved his family and leaves his wife of 70 years, Shirley. He is also survived by his daughters, Cindy (Tony) and Lauren Jean, and his son, Rick. His daughters gave him three grandsons, who then gave him five great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter – finally! At 93, Norval was preceded in death by many family, including his beloved grandson, Richard Bryce.

Norval was a gifted communicator, which means he liked to talk. His communication skills served him well in his career as a sales representative for an electronic parts manufacturing company. While he was an accomplished salesman, his true passion was taking care of his family and his friends and serving his community. Norval was a Mason, a Shriner, and a proud member of the American Legion. He served on many boards and was especially proud of his support of Special Olympics. Norval would encourage everyone to get screened for cancer. Early detection is very important for long-term survival, as he learned.

At Norval’s request, no services will be held. Instead, in Norval’s honor, please do something to help someone, reach out to the people you’ve met in life, and be nice. He did all those things and more.
