Monty 'Bud' Breeton

Monty #8220;Bud#8221; Breeton, 72, of Bozeman, passed away January 19, 2010. He was born November 26, 1937 in Dentaybow Township, MN to Henery and Muriel (Wold) Breeton. At the age of 9, Bud and his family moved to Montana, first living at the Kings Hill Ski Area, then Niehart and later White Sulphur Springs. In the summers Bud and his 7 siblings would spend the summers at his grandmother's farm in Minnesota. Bud and his brother Dan enlisted into the United States Air Force, serving in Alaska and Arizona during the cold war. He married Charlene Mensay, to that union they had three children, Tracy, Randy and Jeff, the couple later divorced. He married Sharon Papke Stewart, they had two children Michelle and Brad, and they later divorced. During his life he lived in Butte, Clallam Bay, WA, Belgrade, and Bozeman. He worked at Plum Creek Lumber in Belgrade for over 30 years as a millwright and carpenter before retiring. Bud was a passionate fisherman; fishing in Sekiu, WA for salmon was his favorite. He loved to be outside and had a collection of late model cars including a 1932 Dodge, 1963 Cadillac, a 73 Buick and several 1950#8217;s vintage Cadillac#8217;s. Bud was a strong quiet type. He was kind and very generous and his family will remember him every time to they look at the additions, garages and decks he built lovingly for them. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Jeff and siblings Dan, Darlene and Barbara. Survivors include his children Tracy of Bremerton, WA, Randy of S. Lake Tahoe, CA, Michelle and Brad both of Missoula, MT; three grandchildren Kelly of Reno, NV, Season and Amy both of Cottonwood, AZ; sisters Beverly Bryan of Belgrade, MT, Lana Smith of Bozeman, MT, Sandy Schmetz of Clallam, WA; brother Larry Breeton of Butte, MT; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday, January 24, 2010 from noon to 5 pm at Dahl Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held Monday, January 25, 2010, 2:00 pm at Dahl Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Sunset Hills with military rites. Memorials may be made in his name to Rocky Mountain Hospice, 301 Edelweiss Dr., Bozeman, MT 59718-3931.
