She grew up in Duluth and graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School where she sang in the Senior Choir and the Triple Trios. Her musical talents extended to playing the organ and piano for family friends and in church. She graduated in 1953. She enjoyed family trips to her grandpa's cabins in the summers. After high school she enrolled in a nursing program at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth and graduated in 1956. She continued to work at St. Luke's for five years where she met an intern, David Siewert, M.D. They were married June 3, 1961, and moved to Minneapolis to complete his three-year residency. During that time a daughter, Mary Beth, was born. They then moved to Bozeman, Montana in July, 1964, where Dave began a 36-year career at the Student Health Service at Montana State University. Two more daughters, Susie and Cindy, filled the family tree. Lenore was an active member of the Evangelical Free Church and found encouragement and guidance at her Bible studies and prayer and share groups. Lenore cheered on the Bobcats football and basketball teams for 50 years, along with her husband, even through her declining health the last three years. Many happy times were enjoyed camping in the mountains and national parks. Visiting her parents and in-laws was also important, along with celebrating holidays with her second family in Bozeman.
