Mary Jane (Lucas) Yelton

Mary Jane (Lucas) Yelton, 86, passed away May 5, 2015, in Bozeman, MT. She was raised in Erlanger, KY, the daughter of Louis and Mary Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her five siblings. Mary Jane attended Lloyd High School, Georgetown College, and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1950 with a degree in Home Economics Education. She married Richard Lee Yelton in June 1950, who preceded her in death in their 64th year of marriage, June 2014. Mary Jane is survived by daughters and son-in-laws, Debby and Bill Young of Bozeman, MT, Cindy and Roger Alber of Massillon, OH, and Mary and Earl McMillion of Gassaway, WV. She was 'Granny' to Matthew (Allison), Nathan (Kindy), Andrew (Amy), and Daniel (Gabriela) Young; Sarah, Maggie, and Jacob (Brittani) Alber, and Cassie Squires, Carrie and Kattie McMillion. She was 'Granny Great' or 'little Granny' to twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to raising her daughters, Mary Jane was very active in any church they attended throughout her marriage, from WV to TX, NJ, CT, and back to KY. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, cooking, decorating, and reading. She will be remembered most for her Christian witness and hospitality to all her family and friends. A graveside memorial service will take place later this summer at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger, KY.
