Mary Desrosiers

December 29, 1945 — December 1, 2010

Mary Margaret Desrosiers lived at Spring Meadows in Bozeman, Montana where she died peacefully on December 1st, 2010. She was born to Eugene King and Margaret Mary Carroll in Brockton, Massachusetts on December 29th, 1945. Mary's education included a high school diploma from Oliver Ames High School in Easton, MA in 1963, a secretarial degree from Aquinus School in Milton, MA in 1964 followed by continuing education at Stonehill College in 1965. Mary moved to Joliet, MT in 2006 where she was well cared for by Dr. Purcell of the Billings Clinic. Election Day 2010 marked ten years of living with ovarian cancer. Prior to moving West, Mary lived for many years in Carver and Pembroke, MA where she acquired a love for the Red Sox and was a most avid fan. Throughout her life she was passionate about her four children, Carol Satterlee of Washingtonville, NY; David Desrosiers of Mundelein, Illinois; Jean Desrosiers of Dobbs Ferry, NY; and Nancy Desrosiers of Bozeman, MT. If she was not bending the ear of a friend proudly recounting her children#8217;s accomplishments then she was showing off the latest photos of her five grandsons: J.J., Benjamin, Nathan, Daniel, and Kelan. Discovering treasures that #8220;only cost a dollar#8221; at yard sales, sharing her outstanding baking, cooking with family and friends, and singing along to Darryl Hall and John Oates were other passions that lit her up and brought her joy. She enjoyed bowling and laughing with her team in Kingston, MA and worked many years at Stop Shop of Pembroke, MA. Mary was a well-liked woman of modest grace with an adventurous and feisty side#8230; #8220;Still feisty#8221; she would say with a wink. Mary's family is grateful for the kindness and support of the Springmeadows and Hospice of Southwest Montana staff. At her request, Mary's ashes will be strewn at Twin Lakes atop the Beartooth Pass at approximately 10,000 feet in elevation. You may join the family for a celebration of her life and passions in Red Lodge, Montana this coming summer of 2011. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ovarian cancer research fund at www.ocrf.org in Mary's name.
