Margaret Bickle

April 24, 1918 — April 14, 2011

Margaret Bickle, 92, formerly of Roundup, Gardiner, Livingston, and Belgrade, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Springmeadows Assisted Living in Bozeman, with her son and daughter at her side. Marge was born April 24, 1918 to Florence and Harvey Nash on the family farm near Broadview, MT. She was big sister to Dean, Reva, Hazel and Dale. She attended country schools and Broadview High School. In 1934, Marge married William Bickle, with whom she shared life for the next 62 years, until his death in 1996. Together they had three children, each being born approximately 10 years apart. They ranched in the Roundup area for many years before purchasing a motel in Gardiner in 1959. Ten years later they relocated to Belgrade to own and operate a trailer court, until retiring to Livingston in 1979. Marge's passions were cooking, camping and caring for her family. On all family occasions she would task herself with ensuring that there was enough food for everyone. One grandson called her 'Fishing Grandma', as she always positioned herself in the middle of the boat and assisted with removing the fish, baiting the hooks, and untangling the fishing lines. Many of her family and friends will remember her talent for creating beautiful crocheted works of art. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; her brother, Dean; and her son, Larry. She is survived by her daughter, Maida (Jim) Paris of Lincoln, MT; son, Kerry (Barbara) Bickle of Bozeman; sisters, Reva Popelka and Hazel (Cal) Foust of Billings; brother, Dale (Kathy) Nash of Great Falls, MT; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marge's family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to the great staff of Springmeadows Assisted Living and to Hospice of Southwest Montana for the loving care they provided for her. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Parkview Memorial Gardens, south of Livingston on East River Road.
