Lorraine S. Vogan

October 13, 1930 — March 31, 2008

Vogan Lorraine Stephanie Vogan, 77, of Bozeman, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008. She was born October 13, 1930 in Gunnison, Colorado to John and Margaret Fernandez. Lorraine was raised in Gunnison until the age of 17 when her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she graduated from West High School. She married James Vogan and had many adventures traveling, flying airplanes, helicopters and moving from place to place with her husband and children. They lived in Washington, Oregon, Alabama, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Mom was truly a dedicated Mother and wife. Lorraine loved to grow a garden and shared the bounty with her family as she canned pickles, vegetables and jams every year. It was an annual event to gather with her Mom (Margret) and any other family members who would pitch in to roast and peel fresh green peppers. Mom loved to cook and owned her own restaurant in Donnelly, Idaho. Her other love was searching for arrowheads seashells and unusual rocks. She was an avid antique collector and collected salt and pepper shakers. Here family was everything to her and she loved to share with anyone who had the time to listen about the many fun and sometimes sad times growing up in a family of thirteen children. She always stayed close to her brothers and sisters and loved to visit with each of them and their children. She also had many loving friends and neighbors. She was a member of Baptist church and loved to sing and worship with her friends. She will be sorely missed by many people around the world. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband, her brothers, John Anthony Fernandez Jr., Michael D. Fernandez, and infant brother Franklin Fernandez; and sisters, Josephine V. Myrick, and Kathrine Elliott. She is survived by her children, Renee (Elden) Boardman of Bozeman MT, Karen (Joe) Chespin of Salt Lake City, UT, Max Vogan of Bozeman, MT, and John (Koy) Vogan of Bozeman, MT; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 62 nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
