Lois Tressler

Lois Margaret Tressler, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2010 in Bozeman. Lois was born April 14, 1925 to Margaret and Roland Arnold. She resided for most of her life in Glasgow, MT. Lois married Byron L. Tressler on October 5, 1946 in Seattle, WA and they returned to Glasgow where they built their life together and raised their family. They had three daughters, Jacquie, and twins Jan and Jill. Lois spent most of her working years assisting Byron with his ready mix and road construction businesses in a bookkeeping role. She was very active in her community, involved in Soroptimist International, Hospital Guild, Student Exchange program, American Legion Auxiliary, Sunnyside Golf Club, and enjoyed participation in several bridge clubs. She loved being outside, and especially the sport of golf, spending several years as the coach of the Glasgow High School girl#8217;s team and was the champion of many golf tournaments in Montana and Arizona. Upon retirement, Lois and Byron moved to their summer home on the Stillwater River in Absarokee, MT and spent winter months in their Arizona and Nevada homes. Preceding Lois in death were her parents Margaret and Roland Arnold, brother Paul Conrad Arnold, niece Colleen Sullivan, and nephew Brian Pehlke. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Byron Tressler, daughters: Jacquie (Michael) Budde of Bozeman, Jan (Frank) Shanks of Columbus, Jill Tressler of Bozeman, grandchildren: Brooke (Carsten) Laaber, Paige Shanks, Dylan Shanks, Mason Shanks, Mati Tressler, great-grandson Kai Hudson Laaber, sisters: Burnice Sullivan, Beryl (Don) Pehlke, brother R.J. #8220;Randy#8221; (Cindy) Arnold, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and their families. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and residents of the Bozeman Lodge for the love, care, and friendship, extended to Lois during the last months of her life and the #8220;angels#8221; from Hospice of SW Montana for their warmth, compassion, and comfort. Burial will take place in the Rosebud Cemetery, Absarokee, MT on Wednesday June 9th at 1pm, with Funeral service and reception following at 2:30pm at the Community Congregational Church in Absarokee.
