Leona #8220;Mae#8221; Donahue, 81, of Belgrade, Montana passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Mae was born on September 2, 1927 in Bozeman, Montana to Henry and Minnie Parson. She married Marvin Donahue in Bozeman on September 19, 1946 after Marvin got out of the service. She was a loving mother to her children, Donnie and Marvin Jr. She had worked as a waitress at the Hacienda Club at the Beaumont in Belgrade, and then as a cook at Belgrade Elementary School for 16 years. She was known for her apple pies, lasagna, and her beef ole. Mae had a big, beautiful garden. She loved making jams and jellies, and canned almost everything she grew. Mae and Marvin enjoyed camping, especially Sheep Creek by White Sulphur Springs, the West Fork of the Madison, and Hyalite Canyon. She had even spent five weeks in the Spanish Peaks. Mae also liked fishing from the bank in Canyon Ferry in the spring and early fall. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She had also been a den mother for the Cub Scouts when Marvin, Jr. was a member. Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Donnie; her sister, Pauline; and her brothers, Bud Parson, George Parson, and Cliff Parson. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Sr.; son, Marvin Jr. and Mary Jo; grandchildren, Scott Donahue of Belgrade, Sabrina Donahue of CA, Troy (Krista) Donahue of Salem, OR, Jill (Jay) Burris of Three Forks, MT, and Corey (Sherri) Donahue of Three Forks; brothers, Dave (Barb) Parson of Belgrade, John (Dixie) Parson of Belgrade, and Dick Parson of Kalispell, MT. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow at the Eagles Lodge.
