Kenneth Scott White

July 15, 1935 — July 13, 2021

Kenneth S. White passed peacefully the evening of July 13, 2021, in Bozeman, MT. He was looking forward to spending eternity with his dear wife Sharon of 50+ years, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Kenny was born in Choteau, MT on July 15, 1935, to Pat and Catherine White. He grew up with his five brothers on the family ranch in Augusta, MT. There his love of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, the wilderness and all things involved in the western way of life took hold of Kenny.

Kenny married the love of his life Sharon and together they raised their two sons, Steven, and Jeffery. They lived in Augusta and there made a lifetime of memories and more dear friends than can be listed.

Kenny loved to ride and hunt, especially with his sons and grandchildren. He enjoyed cabin life at Benchmark for 20 years. He was most happy riding and working in the beloved mountains.

Kenny worked for several outfitters and at the time of his marriage he was working on the LF Ranch. He also worked at the Monarch Lumber Company and then for the Lewis and Clark County Road Department. In 1964 Kenny moved the family on to the family ranch, working the ranch and for the county simultaneously. In the early 70’s the county transferred him to Lincoln where they lived 2 1/2 years. Upon their return to Augusta, he became the county road foreman until his retirement. Kenny also served on the Augusta volunteer fire department and drove a school bus throughout the years. He especially enjoyed the kids.

Kenny was always a servant. He would spend days preparing for his kids and grandkids visits to either their house or the cabin. He also especially enjoyed “wine time” after church with friends and the priest. And of course, the constant flow of friends to the house for coffee or a beer.

One of our favorite memories of him is hunting in Cunniff Basin. In his later years, he and Bill Mosher could be heard from miles away talking and laughing from the side-by-side.

Kenny spent the last few years of his life at Brookdale Assisted Living in Bozeman where he received compassionate and loving care. The family will always be grateful for their part in his final days.

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, Pat, and Catherine, four brothers, Emery, Norman, Donald, and Harold (Gabby), his wife Sharon and daughter-in-law Kristi.

He is survived by his sons, Steven (Jodee), of Dillon, Jeffery of Bozeman, grandchildren Sarah (Stephan) of Seattle, Josh (Jenelle) of Whitehall, Heather (Kevin) of Belgrade, Kacee (Luke) of Belgrade, great grandchildren Sadie, Kade, Henry, Caleb, Sam, and William.
