Kathleen Jennings

December 12, 1943 — May 16, 2013

Kathy Jennings, 69, was called to her heavenly home May16, 2013 at her home in Belgrade, Montana Kathy was born in 1943 to Annalice and Robert Haugen. She and her two brothers Jimmy and Robert 'Murphy' were raised in Redondo Beach, California and she graduated from Mira Costa High School in 1961. She moved to the high desert of California to raise four children and met the love of her life, Al Jennings (Papa), in 1976. In 1980, the married (in Princess Leia and Wolfman masks) in Las Vegas on Halloween and four children became seven. For over 20 years, Kathy worked for local school districts before moving to Montana in winter 1991. Coming from sunny Southern California, Montana was a drastic change but one she loved instantly! For the next 18 ears, she worked in the Plant and Soil, Entomology, and Molecular Biology departments at Montana State University, Bozeman until her much deserved retirement in 2009. Kathy was an avid reader and instilled that in her children. She loved to garden and was an amazing seamstress and knitter who created everything from much anticipated Halloween costumes to t-shirt quilts. She loved dogs, especially scruffy rescues and could be counted on to resend every funny dog picture available on the internet. Above all else, though, she loved her family. Though she had battled through numerous 'only could happen to mom' health issues and sometimes didn't feel so hot, she always had time for marathon phone sessions and great advice. Her unflagging love and support made everybody who got to be a part of her life better for it. There are no words to express how she will be missed . We love you. Kathy is survived by her husband, Al; children: Matt (Tammy) and Jeff (Rose) Jennings, Conni (Tim) Andrews, Marc (Sandy) and Ric (Linda) Crandell, Francine Suiter and Suzi (Scott) Huchting; grandchildren: Jessica, Jennifer, Jolene, Shawna, Tyler, Brett, Hayley, Hannah, Ami and Derrik; and great grandchildren: Alora, Willow, Keira and Jocelyn.
