Jerome Andrew Onsager, 75, of Bozeman, departed this life to be with His Lord on January 21, 2012. Jerry was born in Northwood, North Dakota, on April 8, 1936, to Annie and Alfred Onsager. Jerry held a PhD in entomology and was a research entomologist with the USDA for 36 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and a faithful follower of the Lord Jesus. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bette Lynn Stanton Onsager; son David Jerome Onsager and his wife Kristen; daughter Linnae Onsager Albrecht and her husband John; grandchildren Amanda Albrecht, Madison Onsager, Erik Onsager and Peter Albrecht; and three sisters, Mae Livgard and her husband Norm, Deanna Nygaard and her husband Don, and Alvina Mueller. He was preceeded in death by his parents and by two siblings, Barbara Thingelstad and Bernard Onsager. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, February 10, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, in Bozeman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society, the Lutheran Center of Billings, or the Christ the King Endowment Fund.
