Jack Arnold

May 13, 1944 — August 8, 2009

Jack Arnold went home to be with his heavenly father on August 8, 2009. He was 65. Jack was born on May 13th, 1944 to Ralph and Ida Arnold of Manhattan. He grew up and went to school in Manhattan where he met the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Patricia Matheson. Together they lived in Gallatin Valley where they had four children: Cynthia, Robert, Lisa, and Sheri. Jack worked in heavy highway construction and excelled as a mechanic, welder, and equipment operator. He enjoyed his job as a mechanic at Big Sky Asphalt, where he retired in 2007. Dad loved the outdoors, picking mushrooms during the short Merrell season, chasing down the big buck or perfect bull elk, spring and summer fly fishing at Hyalite, or freezing cold ice fishing at Canyon Ferry. Jack is survived by his wife Patricia of Anceny, son Robert of Oregon, daughter Lisa of Bozeman, daughter Sheri of Washington, ten grandchildren, one great grandson, three brothers, Don, Bob, and Gary, one sister Louise Bates, and ten nieces and nephews. Jack is preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia Lynn, both of his parents and brother Kenneth. Dad went home peacefully surrounded by his family and will be missed dearly. There will be private burial.
