Holli Laine Hale

December 22, 1973 — October 13, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce our adored Holli Laine Hale, 48, said her earthly goodbye on Thursday, October 13, 2022. She is at rest with her Heavenly Father. Holli was greeted in Heaven by her beloved mother, Laurie Hale, as well as her grandparents Stan and Lila Green, grandparents Don and Edith Hale, and uncles Dennis and David Hale.

Holli was born in Vermontville, Michigan, on December 22, 1973. Holli had a genuine love of her people as well as any newcomer who entered her life. Holli would befriend family, friends, and strangers alike and would love them with her whole heart. Everyone was drawn to her loving and bright spirit. She will be deeply missed, and her death leaves a tremendous void in those she leaves behind: her children, Colton and Gracen Armstrong; her father, Darryl (Sue) Hale; sister Robin (Matt) Murphy; nieces, Lauren and Leah; and aunts, uncle, and cousins.

What Holli was most proud of were her two children, Colton and Gracen. They moved to Montana in 2005 and built a life they loved where they traveled and sought out adventures together. This love came by Holli naturally because of her cherished mom, Laurie. Holli’s children were her pride and joy. She was so proud of Gracen’s loving and devoted soul. She admired Gracen’s beauty both inside and out. She would often say, “Isn’t my Gracen just beautiful?” Holli admired Colton’s intelligence, strength, independence and thrill seeking, although his motorcycles made her beyond nervous.

Special to Holli and her family is the incredible and irreplaceable Madison Moody who felt like family, and Holli adored and loved Madison as one of her own. The amazing Dennis Morrow was also a loyal member of Holli’s Montana family. Their daily conversations and devotion to looking after one another were among Holli’s greatest blessings. Holli’s Michigan family was also so important to her, and Holli made sure her roots were deeply shared with her children. The three would prioritize taking trips with her sister, Robin, and her precious nieces, Lauren and Leah; these trips were full of joy and erased the miles between Montana and Michigan. Holli loved her sister and was so proud of the hand she had in bringing Matt and Robin together. From that came two other points of pride, her nieces, whom she adored and spoiled. She was the wild and crazy aunt, who would give them cotton candy and caramel corn for breakfast. One of the most important ties to Michigan was her loyal and loving father, Darryl. She wanted her kids to know his steadfast values and his unwavering love for his family. It was impossible for her children to not see the similarities between Holli and Darryl. Those two were the king and queen of wisecracks and cutting to the chase.

Holli’s heart lived in both Montana and in Michigan, so she will be honored and remembered in both places she called home. A Celebration of Life will take place in Manhattan, Montana, at the Manhattan Presbyterian Church, October 27, 2022, at 7:00pm. A Celebration of Life will also take place in Vermontville, Michigan, at the First Congregational Church of Vermontville, November 22, 2022; reception and fellowship with the family will be available from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., followed by the service beginning at 6:00 p.m. The family invites all who loved Holli to gather as we honor her memory.
