Heather Ferguson

August 6, 1971 — March 14, 2014

Heather Ann Ferguson was born in Anderson, Indiana and moved to Vero Beach, Florida in 1978. She attended Beachland Elementary and was a 1989 graduate of Vero Beach High School. Heather attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky and graduated from Valdosta University in Valdosta, Georgia. She received her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Heather taught gifted classes at Rosewood and Glendal Elementaries in Vero Beach before moving to Sidney, Ohio in 2004 to become the Coordinator of Special Education for Shelby County, Ohio. In 2011, Heather relocated to Bozeman, Montana and was the Gifted/Talented & RESA Specialist for the State of Montana’s Office of Public Instruction. Heather was a strong woman of God and she instilled that belief and faith in her four children. She had a selfless love of home, family, and community. Most importantly she was an amazing and devoted mother to Bryce, Grady, Ryann, and Jacelen Dawkins, who were the light of her life. She often referred to her children as her little gold nuggets. Heather is survived by her children; Bryce, Ryann, and Jacelen Dawkins of Bozeman, Montana; Parents JC and Sharon Ferguson of Vero Beach, Florida; Brothers Jeff (Margarita) Ferguson of Vero Beach, Florida, and Andy Ferguson and Beth Ferguson; Sister Lori (Dale) Dawkins of Bozeman, Montana; Nieces and Nephews Drew & Tyler Ferguson, Alexa, Kassady, Blake, Jadyn, and Giana Dawkins, all of Bozeman, Montana. A celebration memorial service will be held for Heather and her son Grady at Journey Church on Saturday, March 22nd at 11am.
