Frances Jochem

Frances Buell Jochem, 91, passed away November 10, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born October 8, 1917 at Glen Haven Ranch, at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains, north of Buffalo, Wyoming to the late Miles William and Helen White Buell. Growing up she loved the mountains and all the great outdoors. She worked at the HF Bar Ranch and Paradise Ranch, and later for the State of Wyoming in Cheyenne, where she met and married Robert Jochem, April 29, 1943. After Bob returned from overseas duty, the couple moved to Billings, MT, where they lived for over 55 years. Frances was active in volunteering for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H and other children activities. Later she volunteered to visit shut ins, especially Valley Nursing home and retirement homes, and getting others involved in volunteering. Frances was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, PCCW St Rose of Lima Circle, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, R. S.V.P. and Billings Senior Center. In Dec. 1999 the couple moved to Belgrade, MT, to be near family members. Recently Frances was living at Birchwood assisted living facility in Bozeman. Her husband, Bob died May 28, 2000. Also preceding her were her parents, brothers John, Harold, Walter, and Miles Junior Buell, and sister Beverly McInerney She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Bill) Jacobson, of Missoula; daughter Teresa (Mike) Riggs of Belgrade; Robert Jochem Lanier of San Luis Obispo, CA; and Dan (Nancy) Jochem of Bozeman. Grandchildren include Mike, David, Karl Jacobson and their families; Marin Caribia Lanier; Jason, Brian Kendra Riggs; and Miles Emily Jochem; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 brothers: Charles of Buffalo WY, Ralph of Cheyenne WY, and Eldon of Sheridan WY. Funeral Mass will be Friday November 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bozeman. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 PM till 7:00 PM, followed by a Vigil at 7:00PM at the Dahl Funeral Chapel , in Bozeman. Memorial in Frances#8217;s name can be given the charity of one's choice.
