Ethel Erickson

d. April 8, 2012

Ethel Pearl Erickson, age 89, of Bozeman, MT died peacefully at home on Easter Sunday after a family visit to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus whom she loved and faithfully served. Ethel was born in Saskatchewan, Canada as a “Morgenstern” and lived on a farm near Maple Creek. She immigrated to Montana in 1948 with her minister husband, Rev. Arnold Erickson and four children. Four more were born in the States. Ethel enjoyed knitting, sewing, crafts and kept a clean house in spite of many kids. She also loved gardening, her eight children were her flowers in pots to nurture. She had much love, laughter, prayer and discipline. We all loved her and so did the 33 grandchildren. Ethel had a lovely alto voice and sang on the radio in Canada with her husband before they moved. She was self-taught to play the pump organ, accordion and piano. Most of her children sing or play a musical instrument, some just clap their hands a lot and make joyful noises. Ethel attended the Bozeman Church of God for several years; however, she was more than just a member. She led a Christ filled life that is her legacy. Her advice to us was to ask Christ for His friendship, His love and His forgiveness for the wrong things we do in life. There are 6 surviving children: Joyce of California, Darwin of Minnesota, Beverly of Wyoming, Byron of Montana, Jody of West Virginia, and Dean of Texas. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30pm and a Funeral Service at 2pm on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Church of God, 808 W. Villard St., Bozeman, MT 59715.
