Ellen Elizabeth Pride Woodbury, 65, of Bozeman, passed away on July 23, 2012 after a brief illness. . She was born August 27, 1946 in Portland, Maine. She graduated from the North Yarmouth Academy in Yarmouth, Maine and received her Bachelor's of Science in Earth Science and Geography from Montana State University in Bozeman. Ellen worked as a Land Use Planner for both the public and private sector. She was a Member of Hope Lutheran Church where her special passion was for the Family Promise program which she coordinated for the church. Ellen was an avid reader. She also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors including hiking, cross country skiing and horse-back riding. Her love of animals led her to feed every stray that crossed her path. But her favorite thing was spending time with her three grandsons. . Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Byron and Barbara Pride. She is survived by her daughters; Diane (Bret) Conti of Bozeman, and Sarah Woodbury of Washington, D.C., three grandchildren; Spencer, Alec and Nicholas, and her siblings; Merritt G. (Barbara) Pride of Twin Bridges, Montana, Daniel Pride of Columbia, South Carolina, her niece Kerry (Zach) Pride of Cheyenne, Wyoming, her Aunts; Jean and Ginny, her Uncle Clayton, and many cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Hope Lutheran Church in Bozeman, Montana. A reception will follow in Hope Lutheran's Fireside Room. Ellen's family asks that memorial contributions be made to Family Promise, P.O Box 475 Bozeman, MT 59715 or Hope Lutheran Church, 2152 W. Graf, Bozeman, MT 59718.
